Hen Party style can have a bit of a bad rep; skirts too short, tops too low, and then of course, all the flashing veils, L plates and um, oddly-shaped accessories.

Now, while all of those can be really fun, if you’re looking to amp up your style for your hen night, we’ve got a few ideas for something cool, chic, and super gorgeous.

We have recently caught up with Claire Byrne, Editor of Bridal Musings who gave us an insight into ways to keep your hen party look stylish and chic.

At Bridal Musings, we’re pretty obsessed with wedding day style (the shoes, the jewellery, THE DRESS) but paving the way for your bridal style can actually start way before your big day.

Check out our top five tips for hen party style…

1. Set The Tone

If you’re the kind of bride who has a clear idea of your wedding day aesthetic, why not incorporate it into your hen party look too?

Are you having a cool, boho bash for your wedding? Then opt for a relaxed maxi dress and flower crown for your hen. If your wedding will be really glamorous, then sky high sandals and a mini dress makes the perfect hen party ensemble. Or if your wedding day with be draped in vintage touches, then start early, with cute tea dresses or a retro jumpsuit.

2. Little White Dress

You can’t possibly go wrong with a little white dress, like EVER! It’s fun, it’s bridal, and it works just as well for daytime as it does for night (very handy if you’re not quite sure where your hens are taking you!).

With versatile styles, choose a bandage dress if you’re looking for something sexy and confident, while lace or broderie anglaise will look summery and pretty.

While the LWD will look gorgeous with your novelty veil and sash, you can also take it to the next level with killer accessories, we love the idea of tortoise shell pumps or bright tassel earrings.

3. Serious Sparkle

So, this is kind of our mantra for everything in life but… if in doubt, add sequins. Nothing says celebration like a splash of sparkle, so it’s kind of a no-brainer for hen night outfit.

Go all in with a gold mini-dress, or keep it really cool and understated by pairing a sequin mini with a grey tee. There’s a lot of rose gold around at the moment, which gives just the right amount of glamour, but with a touch of prettiness and romance too.

4. Wear the Trousers

Jumpsuits and rompers are so freaking cool, and instantly take your style up a notch. They’re perfect for hen parties, because they work great as comfy day wear for train journeys or shopping, then at night, add heels, a top knot and a long necklace, and you’re good to go.

If you’re nervous about pulling off a jumpsuit, opt for something with a low neck and cinched waist, so it really flatters your shape.

5. Keep It Classy

Now I’m not saying you need to cover up for your hen party, (I love a super short mini, or backless dress as much as the next gal!) but there is something super stylish about dressing demurely, especially on your hen night.

Pick your best asset, whether that’s your legs, chest, back, arms or midriff, and show it off. Choose an outfit that’s suits your style, rather than the occasion, whether that’s classic and elegant, cool and fun, or chic and glamorous.

Adorn it with your favourite accessories, and you’re all set for the most stylish send-off from singledom, ever.
