A survey has found that the average cost of attending a wedding as a guest has reached an astonishing £380.
The survey was conducted for Santander and the price included the cost of attending a stag night or a hen do, which it estimated as costing £114 to attend, although you can save money by grabbing a bargain at HenHeaven.
Emma Roberts, Director of Santander Cards, said: “It’s easy to overlook the cost involved in being a wedding guest but the outlay can be significant, both before and during the big day.”
The survey suggested guests were trying to cut down on the rising costs of weddings, with 26 per cent saying they intended to spend less this year than they did last year.
