Edinburgh for me. The city's nice and compact, so easy to get around all the brilliant bars, restaurants and clubs. Plus Edinburgh's cheaper.

I love London but Edinburgh wins by a Royal Mile.

Heard the one that it's a man's world? Know why? Because they know how to divide and rule and that is what's happened with the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law relationships. Plus brides' mothers want to keep their daughters to themselves.

It's time we all learned that it's OK to like an m-i-l. That it doesn't mean disloyalty to your own mum. That you don't have to 'own' your new husband. That it's great to spread the love around and that sharing is not only good but a valuable lesson to pass on to your own kids>

Have all the daughters-in-laws thought that if they have sons then they too will be m-i-l's one day? Do they want to be excluded from their sons' lives? Nope? - thought not!

Fairy tales used to be all about wicked step-mothers and with so many second marriages the new twist on that one is that it is always the ex-wife who is evil. Why do women have to stereotype and hate each other? Trace this stoopid myth that all mother-in-laws are evil back to the prejudiced male comedians and then forget it. It's time!

I planned my friends hen party earlier this year, following the golden rules it went down a storm! I found that it’s important to get the budget right, I know you want to pack loads of great activities in and organise the hen party of the year but honestly that is likely to cause you nothing but an exhausting weekend/an empty purse and big headache! From my experience the way to do it is.......

- Agree a sensible budget that everyone is happy with
- Pick a fun day activity to break the ice and get everyone involved.
- Book somewhere for dinner, line your stomach before you start drinking!
- Prepare some fun games for around the dinner table like ‘Mr and Mrs’
- Line the cocktails up and get dancing the night away!!

It all seems so easy at first, but then trying to organise 18 women can be hell! Good tip I picked up, split the group into sections of friends and nominate one person from each group to be in charge, this way you have mini captains and it definitely makes your life as easier as top dog!
