A Single Valentine’s: How it is Spent

A Single Valentine’s: How it is Spent

Categories: News

If you’re in a relationship, it’s safe to say you probably know how you’re going to spend Valentine’s Day but for a second spare a thought for the single people of the world: having to spend a day dealing with the crushing disappointment that they won’t be doing anything with a partner. Unless you are single yourself, you won’t have considered how this loved up, couples devoted day will be spent. Will it be avoiding every single mention of the day? Will it be trying to meet someone new? Or does it just not matter?

Being a company that constantly deals with couples waiting to be wed, we decided to ask this question to the single people of Brighton and really find out how singles spend Valentine’s and just like our home city – the results were eclectic to say the least. From both men and women we found some unsurprising truths but also some pretty odd ways to get through the 14th all alone (chatting up hookers on GTAV, anyone?) all the way to the more normal choices of spending the day listening to sad songs… of course.
