Hen Party Spotlight: Ibiza

Hen Party Spotlight: Ibiza

Categories: Hen Party Advice

Sun, sea, and sand make for a great time, but how could you possibly make that time even more enjoyable? By combining the sun, sea, and sand with your hen party of course!

So where should you go then? We’ve got a number of great sun-kissed hen party destinations on offer, but today we’re going to be showing you a lot of what Ibiza has to offer for your hen party. This stalwart of a party island still knows how to guarantee a good time, as we’re about to show you.

Where is Ibiza?

Ibiza is in the Mediterranean Sea, just off the coast of Spain (Valencia, to be precise) and forms part of the Balearic Islands, along with Majorca, Minorca, and Formentera. Flying to Ibiza from London takes just over two hours on average, around two and a half hours from Manchester, and just under three hours from Glasgow. Flights can be booked relatively cheaply if you are able to book well enough in advance too.

Why should I go to Ibiza?

The location of the island in the Med means that great weather is almost guaranteed each summer, with average temperatures between 26 and 30 degrees from June through until September. Even October’s average temperatures sit at around 24 degrees. Not too shabby.

But why else should you go to Ibiza, apart from the weather? What about the nightlife? Long since known as a Mediterranean Mecca for electronic dance music, Ibiza boasts some of the world’s best clubs, with internationally renowned DJs holding down summer-long residencies in the island’s top clubs. These clubs include Space, Amnesia, Pacha, Eden, Es Paradis, and the infamous Café del Mar.

This year’s party calendar is jam-packed with appearances across the island from a wide range of DJs and producers, old and new, including legends in the scene such as Steve Aoki, Fatboy Slim, Josh Wink, Andy C, Paul Van Dyk, and DJ EZ, to new names and faces such as Skream, Gorgon City, Route 94, Bastille, and Breach. Even Snoop Dog aka Snoop Lion himself will perform on the island this summer!

Throw all of this together with the activities and fun that Hen Heaven can offer and you’ve got yourself an irresistible hen party package on your hands. So what can you do for your hen party then? Read on and all will be revealed…

What can I do in Ibiza?

Everyone knows about the clubs in Ibiza, but there is more to the island than just partying. Sure, you can party away your time in Ibiza if you wish, but if you want to do something else you’ll find plenty of choice. Here are five things you can do on your hen do in the Med:

Ibiza Horse Valley

Animal lover? Then you need to visit the Ibiza Horse Valley, which boasts a sanctuary for badly treated horses. They also offer treks and tours around the north of the island in the Es Murta Park, and some of the tours even give you the chance to swim with the horses and get to explore the ‘real’ Ibiza.

Sunset Party Cruise

Ok, so this is another way of partying, but you’ll not get the chance to party on a boat at sunset every weekend unless you happy to be super rich and famous. Jump aboard a catamaran and be taken around the coast of the island, past the famous Café del Mar and Mambo as the sun sets. With a DJ on deck to man the decks you’ll soon be dancing the evening away at sea. Once everyone is on their way to a great night you’ll be dropped off back on dry land to continue the festivities.

Hippy Market

If you fancy a day spent looking at all manner of leather, lace, and jewellery, then you should take a trip to see Ibiza’s original hippy market. With around 500 craftsmen and artists offering their wares each week you’re almost guaranteed to find some great little gifts and knick-knacks while you’re here. Live performances are often held, and you’ll find plenty of places to grab a bite to eat and drink, including homemade paella. Find out more here with our Hemp Heaven weekend package.

Water Park

A lot of the staff here at Hen Heaven have found that visiting a water park can be one of the best ways to rid yourself of a horrific hangover. While it may have since been overtaken by parks such as Siam in Tenerife, this is still a great way to spend a day. Who doesn’t love throwing themselves down water slides? Trust us on this one, you’ll love it. You can even leave the park for a break on the beach before returning if you want to. Find out more here.

Water Sports

Finally, you can’t go to Ibiza without trying your hand at some of the water sports on offer. Whether you fancy a Ringo ride, the fly-fish, or the good old classic the banana boat, you can do it. Your sides will hurt from laughing too much once everyone has been thrown into the Med from the banana boat, and there is also parasailing as well, and you don’t need us to tell you that this will give you some great views of Ibiza’s beaches.

Escape to the sun for your hen do! You can find out what else Hen Heaven can offer for your hen party on our Ibiza hen weekends page.
