Hen Trend 2016: Action hen do

Categories: Hen Party Advice

It may not be the first thing most of us think of when we start looking for hen do inspiration, but this season the hens aren’t ready to let the boys have all the fun-action themed hen do’s are on the up-and for good reason!

Of course, we still love a good cocktail making sesh or classy afternoon tea with the girls, but if you want something a little different that you’ll be talking about long after the wedding day, be sure to jump on the trend of the moment (literally).

Whether you want to get competitive with the girls, or just want to see some action, here’s our pick of the top adrenaline fuelled activities in one of our most action packed destinations-Manchester.

Go Karting.

An oldie but a goodie, if you want to be in the driving seat on your hen do, this is the activity for you. Of course, anything that involves racing is bound to get your competitive streak going, so it’s worth placing a bet on who’ll get the fastest time-last to hit the finish line buys the prosecco surely?! Our go karting hen do sessions are run by fully qualified instructors, so you can be sure you’re burning rubber in good hands! Of course, just because you want a bit of action on your hen weekend, it doesn’t mean you want to brave the elements, so pick the indoor variety and you won’t need to worry about frizzy hair- this makes life much easier if anyone decides to try and get a few snaps of you in action!

Bubble Mayhem-Zorb Games

If fast cars and getting muddy don’t do it for you, but you want a piece of the action we’ve got the perfect alternative. If it’s good clean fun you and the girls are after, a bubble mayhem weekend  is the way to go-you’ll play a whole host of games while encased in a bubble zorb. You’ll experience activities such as ‘bump the bride’ and ‘bulldog may-hen’ to put you and the girls through your paces. There will be an onsite co-ordinator to ensure everyone plays fair, and there’s also a Mr and Mrs Quiz at half time to test your memory as well as your ability to get physical! Time to get swotting!

Quad Biking

Ok, so this one is definitely for the more thrill seeking amongst us, but it’s the kind of unique hen activity you’ll be laughing about for years to come if you choose it for your party. The bikes are designed to go over everything from hard ground to mud, so be prepared for the ride of your life. You can do quad biking in the sweltering heat of a hen do in Lisbon if you are looking to go abroad. Obviously this activity requires you to get a little daring and messy, so it’s not for the faint hearted, but if you want to chase the girls round the track and get competitive, this is the perfect exhilarating outdoor activity.

Tree top adventure

If you and your besties consider yourselves sporty types, a tree top adventure is a great way to get some action on your big weekend, so if you’re heading to Manchester you’re in luck. This session is definitely one for the more energetic hens, as you’ll conquer zipwires and Tarzan swings along the way-perfect if you’re big kids at heart! It’s probably best to go easy on the evening plans if you’re after this one-you’ll definitely need a power nap in order to keep going after!

Low impact paintballing

We’re sure you’ve heard of paintballing (who hasn’t?!) but for those of us who want a gentler introduction in to the world of adrenaline, why not book the low impact version? Available for hens heading up North for a  Manchester hen do, this 2 hour session includes 3-4 games and target shooting, so if you reckon you’ve got a good aim and a steady hand, why not put it to the test? This version of the popular game has all the fun without the impact, so you needn’t worry about being too bruised if you turn out not to be such a pro with a paintball gun as you thought you were!

PS-Don’t forget

-Bring a change of clothes and wear old, comfortable clothing that you won’t be fretting about getting dirty. The last thing you want is a rip in your fave jeans or the risk of a wardrobe malfunction ruining your chances of glory!

-If you’re beginners pick an activity you all feel comfortable doing-there’s nothing worse than someone dreading their turn or not getting involved when you’re all up for the challenge!

-It’s supposed to be fun! Some people like the thrill more than others, so whether you’re pros and want to get your competition on, or you just want to learn a new skill and have a laugh in the process, be sure to capture the moment-after all, it isn’t something you do every day!
