On Saturday 17th October 2015, the team at Hen Heaven will be taking part in the popular ‘Here Comes the Bride’ charity walk for the fourth year in a row. Starting at Saltdean’s White Cliff Café, the walk will see staff from the UK’s leading hen company sport a variety of flamboyant bridal dresses and face the brunt of the autumnal weather, as they walk six miles along the coastal path to Brighton’s iconic West Pier in aid of local children’s charity, Rockinghorse.

Rockinghorse is the official fundraising arm of the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital, and also a proud supporter of The Trevor Mann Baby Unit (TMBU). The charity was created in 1967 by Trevor Mann, who recognised the urgency for additional resources in which to improve healthcare services for sick children and babies, and has been running for nearly 50 years. Money raised for this fantastic charity goes towards life-saving and cutting-edge medical equipment, whilst also providing that children in their care are treated in an environment which best suits their requirements.

Analiese Doctrove, Head of Fundraising at Rockinghorse says,
“We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone at Hen Heaven for organising this fantastic event. Every year it helps to raise vital funds to support our work at The Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital and Trevor Mann Baby Unit. We cannot wait to see this year’s outfits!”

The past three year’s events have been a massive success, raising in total almost £9000 for the Brighton based children’s charity - so let’s wish the team luck for this year’s walk, and here’s hoping for some decent weather!
