Hen Destination of the Month: Prague

Categories: Hen Party Advice

If your hen weekend falls during the winter months you might not even think twice about travelling abroad, in fact you might want to keep it local. But this is your hen do, a once in lifetime occasion, and you don’t have to sacrifice this pivotal time in your life just because of the seasons; if anything this can work out better for you!

What is it like?

Prague is a fantastic city to visit in the winter months, making it a great possibility for a winter hen weekend. I won’t lie to you, the temperature dips significantly from summer and you’ll get incredibly cold if you’re not well prepared. So if you’re not a fan of the cold weather Prague won’t be a good choice for you. However, for those of you who don’t mind sub-zero temperatures would find Prague to be a great place to take the hen party. If this new Boots advert is anything to go by, we've apparently spent the summer waiting for winter anyway?

If you visit during December there is a great Christmas market in the Old Town Square that you have to make time for. Also, having travelled to Prague during the winter with my other half I feel duty bound to tell you to make sure that you pack the right clothes and shoes! If you are planning to do a bit of sightseeing or anything that involves a lot of walking around, make sure you've got the right kind of shoes! Heels will definitely not cut it on the cobbled streets of Prague, and will only lead to disaster/ injury! Getting around Prague can be made easier by jumping on a tram for a reasonable amount, which will save those legs!

What can you do?

There are almost endless opportunities for fun on your Prague hen weekend, and we offer plenty of daytime and evening activities and packages. For the day time you can choose to pamper yourself and your girls with an exclusive Spa package, or even a tour around the Staropramen factory if you wish (you get a free beer at the end!). There is plenty to see in Prague, including some pretty ‘out there’ architecture, like the television tower that has huge babies crawling up it (needs to be seen to be believed, Google it!). When I first saw it I couldn't actually believe what I was seeing!

When night falls you’ll have no shortage of pubs, bars and clubs to visit, and with a Hen Heaven package you can guarantee entry and queue jumping at some of these clubs, saving you plenty of hassle with your Prague hen weekend planning! This, of course means more time spent having fun!

I’m only scratching the surface here, but this is enough to get you interested, and the fun part will be discovering all that Prague has to offer once you touch down in the ‘Zlaté m?sto’, a nickname the Czechs use which translates to the ‘Golden City’.
